Sessa New Web Site

Sessa Marine presents it's new updated virtual web showroom. Sessa was founded in 1958 by Camillo Braga entering the plastic molding industry, but it was ten years later in 1968 with second generation daughter Raffaella Camilla Braga Radice that the company started entering the nautical sector with small boat production fully commencing in 1972. First small boat production starts in Sessa Aurunca and in a small yard at Cinisello Balsamo. In 1972 Sessa purchases a new plant in Arcore, and a year later to this it will be the first boat builder to install its boats with Piaggio Jet inboard propulsion.  In 1986 Sessa moves house again from Arcore to Lesmo, and two years later does it again going to Bergamo, with the purchase of Fyberstamp, which was a third party fiberglass builder to both Ferretti and Riva.  This purchase will be very important for Sessa, and the classic models of the Mambo, Samba, and Sunshine will be replaced with the Key Largo, Key West, and Oyster.  In 2006 Sessa America is founded and in 2008 the new C68 flagship is launched.  In 2011 Sessa Brasil is founded followed by a new production facility in the South American continent.  In 2015 Riccardo Radice launches a new challenge with a new Hong Kong share holder with the important aim to enter the Asian markets.  Sessa has received many prices over the years; 2008 Raffaella Braga Radice gets the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro and the C68 is priced as Best Design under 70 feet, and in 2009 Key Largo 36 gets the Boat of the Year 2009 from Motor Boating USA. As at today Sessa has produced over 20,000 boats. Sessa currently builds a total of twenty models divided into two lines; Sessa Marine Yacht, and Key Largo. Sessa latest new model model is the Fly68 Gullwing launched in the fall of 2017, while many of the other models have received make up improvements for the 2018 and beyond season.  Sessa new website is available in English, Italian, Spanish, and French languages and takes you around with the following buttons; Brand, History, Design, Environment, Events, Contacts, and Private Area.  Sessa is also present on social medial with links at the bottom right of the page for its; Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages.

Project: Sessa C54 Sport-Coupe

Sessa pulls out a new project for a sixteen metres open yacht, the C54 Sport-Coupe. Coming live in the next Cannes Show in September this new model will continue Sessa vocation as a trend-setter, and ever improving quality coming by, reviving and expand its sport yacht range, what will be a challenge in this size. Designer Christian Grande and Sessa set the tones for a Sport Yacht with closed lounge main deck concept as the C68 flagship, and as recent models continue with striking aggressive looks and so called animal features. Sessa objective is to give the C54 Sport-Coupe the C68 amenities, and as it happens this project mirrors the flagship in many ways combining characteristics of a performing and sporty open, to those of a comfortable, elegant yacht. The C54 Sport-Coupe is also Sessa's fourth generation hull developed for IPS, following the C46, C43 and the 54 Fly. Sessa is one of the few to have used IPS so extensively and in my memory only another Italian yard does in fact uses the Volvo forward looking pods more to this, which made possible to take advantage of an experience to optimise this technology to the full and incorporate better use of volumes. This does in fact deliver a lower deck with three double cabins, including a full beam owner stateroom to mid-ship with separate shower head. A spacious galley is also located on the lower deck, entirely freeing the main saloon for entertainment and lounging having here an eight person guest table, bar, convertible settee which transforms into a sun pad, and the separation glass patio door which makes the C54 a summer and winter sport yacht. There will also be a BBQ area behind the cockpit, a hydraulic stern platform, and a crew cabin which is so welcoming that can also be used for guests. The C54 Sport-Coupe shares a similar hull shape, twin Volvo 700hp engines, and second generation larger IPS pods to the 54 Fly which should also mirror the 32 knots top speeds achieved by Sessa first flybridge yacht.

Project: Sessa F6X

Sessa is expected to present a new F6X project for the 2024 Cannes boat show.  The Sessa F6X comes from a design of Davide Cipriani Centro Stile and fills the gap or most probably replaces the Fly 54 model which debuted in 2009.  Sessa has in 2019 announced an FX5 project, and this new F6X seems a soft evolution of that design with a name change and more hull glazing.  At seventeen meters the Sessa F6X will offer a three double cabins lower deck with three heads layout, with a main deck offering an astern galley layout, with the central area offering a hybrid dinette saloon settee.   The Sessa F6X is to be powered by twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod drives for an estimated top speed up to 32 knots.  The Sessa F6X enters into the very competitive seventeen meter flybridge yacht segment of the market.

Improve-it = Sessa C68

Sessa continues its renovation, and after restyling the C38 and C44 in 2017, for 2018 its the turn for the C68.  Launched in 2009 as the new Sessa flagship to high acclaim and success with design by Christian Grande the C68 is beating the test of time admirably.  Still as today the flagship of Sessa and of the Yacht line the C68 gets improvement treatment by designer Davide Cipriani of Centrostiledesign who added new large hull side windows to the exterior.  Adding to the exterior stylistic improvements the C68 gets two aft deck choices from a classic arrangement of sun-pad with underneath tender garage, or having a second exterior dinette which can convert to a sun-pad.  The choices for the interior of the Sessa C68 has also increased with eighteen different choices of wood, leather, and fabric for the cabins.  In addition to this Sessa is also offered in five hull color choices two in gelcoat and three in paint.  Pictured above is in-fact the new silver metal paint option. The Sessa C68 is standard powered by twin Volvo 900hp engines with IPS pod drives who deliver top speeds up to 36 knots.  Additional engine options is the 2017 presented Volvo 1000hp again matched to Volvo IPS pod drives.

Sessa Sport Yacht Saved from Fire

A Sessa sport yacht of about twenty meters with five persons onboard called coast guard assistance after it had its engine room engulfed in smoke during sea-trials in the gulf of Trieste, in front of Porto Piccolo on the morning of 24 September. The Sessa sport yacht was reported as developing some sort of minor hull damage during the accident.  The coast guard and fire fighting arrived to the accident scene after some minutes of the call on the Italian 1530 emergency number.  At the arrival of the scene all was under control though with the Coast Guard following the yacht up to the entrance to the Porto Piccolo yacht marina as precaution.
The Sessa twenty meter sport yacht in this accident is the C68 model, designed by Christian Grande and released in 2010.  The C68 offers interior layouts for three or four double cabins plus a crew cabin for two.  The C68 is usually powered by twin Volvo 900 or 1000hp engines with IPS pod drives and is able to reach top speeds up to 36 knots, although the first hulls which precede the large IPS drives where powered by twin Volvo 700hp with IPS and or Man 1360hp and line shaft propulsion.  The Sessa C68 was modernized in 2018 with window glazing replacing the circle shaped port holes.  A Sport Fly version presented as a project in 2013 never actually materialized. The C68 was replaced as Sessa's flagship by the slightly larger, and wider Fly 68 Gullwing in 2018.

New Model: Sessa C68

Sessa’s much waited flagship model the C68 is finally here. Announced as a C65 back in March 2008 it took over a year to go from project to reality in what would become the Sessa pinnacle model in the form of the C68. As all recent Sessa elegance and power take a distinguish form of features and innovation with glassed window surfaces playing a huge part in the design of the C68. The C68 extends Sessa size offer by sixteen feet and continues Christian Grande design work for the Radice family owned boat builder. Grande presents some surprises most notably is the full beam cabin window which sorts of connects with the main deck saloon lower sweeping design. Interior is characterized by a new dimension of livability, conceived to evoke a domestic setting without sacrificing a nautical but also modern feel. Sessa is praised for the amount of natural light inside, but also the uniqueness for a boat this size of a lit wine cellar. Layout plan is a three double cabin plan with owner suite mid ship, VIP cabin to fore and double guest cabin in between. The saloon plan has a galley located at the stern port side of the interior saloon, l-shaped relaxing settee opposite, and dining are to fore port side, and a double seated helm station to starboard. Power is from twin MAN 1360hp engines with speeds so far not announced by the builder, but expect max speeds in the mid thirty knots region.

Improve-it = Sessa C38

For 2018 Sessa is taking the challenge to the market by renovating some of its most popular models to latest style generation.  The first to make such an update is the C38 which when launched in 2009 was one of Sessa's most successful models, and in its size also one with the best layout and design.  Customers wanted a stylish low profile hardtop in an eleven meter sport cruiser with a single level main deck, and they got both.  For 2018 the Sessa C38 keeps its main attributes of design and style but adds full view large hull windows to cater for more natural light and views on the lower cabin deck.  For the remaining this new generation Sessa C38 keeps the practical design; featuring two cabins, an L-shaped galley, and L-shaped saloon making it a popular practical sport cruiser in its size.  Power for the Sessa C38 comes from twin Volvo 300hp engines which give a top speed of 36 knots.

Improve-it = Sessa C68

Sessa presents a new choice to the engine propulsion of its C68 flagship.  This new engine propulsion package comes from Volvo twin 900hp engines, with the latest third generation IPS1200 propulsion.  The new option makes it the fifth Sessa to be powered by Volvo IPS pod propulsion.  The twin Volvo IPS1200 power propulsion reduces 460hp per engine to the previous MAN 1360hp set up.  According to Sessa the Volvo IPS1200 showed reduced consumption of 25% and noise levels of 40% with top speeds of 35 knots.  The engine change also marked a redefined engine room and crew cabin layout.  This now offers a more spacious engine room and a new access point onto the deck.  The crew cabin is also more spacious with a separate bathroom and extra seating that can be converted into an extra berth.  Sessa also introduced new interior fittings with a new Cocoa wood choice, Havana leather and Ivory fabrics.  A new layout without the bar is also available on the main deck.  These new choices show the flexibility of the Sessa C68 current flagship in all parts of its build from layout, engine, propulsion, and fitting choices.

Project: Sessa 45 Fly

Sessa present the project for the 45 Fly, set to be presented in the fall of this year.  This model when launched will represent Sessa second flybridge model following the 54 Fly presented almost two years ago, and the seventh boat to be powered by IPS.  The 45 Fly will also offer four variations to its theme able to suite global customer needs. As has been done by Sessa in recent years designer Christian Grande and the Sessa team explore modern ideas both outside and inside.  I like how the 45 Fly looks outside with a sleek sporty line compared to other similar sized flybridge cruisers with some unedited design touches.  Here I am obviously speaking for the stern, with two uprights reminiscent of super yacht architecture forming a big window creating an openwork shade to provide shelter from the cold and from curious eyes, so that it is possible to dine outside without attracting unwanted attention.  The Sessa will also offer a very spacious lower deck about seventeen squared meters with a three double cabins, and two private shower heads layout.  But all areas of the 45 Fly seems to be spacious form the living main deck, to the flybridge this offering seating space for up to ten people, plus a sun pad, and a fully equipped wet bar dinette.  Power is from Volvo 435hp engines with IPS600 pod propulsion.

New Model: Sessa C48

Sessa presented the new C48 at the Genoa show, which is based on the C46 hull. As is known the C46 launched in 2007 has been one of Sessa's most press praised models being awarded Boat of the Year by British IPC media i.e. Motor Boat and Yachting, and Motor Boats Monthly in January 2008. Considering the success of the C46, Sessa tweaks and upgrades the C48 in numerous departments but still keeps the same successful formula. The changes are a new hard top super structure design from Christian Grande now looking more similar to the new recent models from Sessa, a hydraulic up and down bathing platform aft, larger cockpit aft deck, more spacious tender garage with space for a tender or Jet-Ski up to 2.85 meters in length, and scissor moving forward stateroom which changes the double berth to a two singles format. For the remaining the Sessa builds on the model it replaces with a full beam owners stateroom, two galleys one down and a comfortable one outside, two heads, and power from Volvo IPS600 with twin 435hp engines performance.

Project: Sessa C35 Sport Coupe

Sessa present the project of the Sessa C35 Sport Coupe. This is Sessa third announced project out of five promised new models for the 2010 fall. A hard top sport cruiser which follows on the exterior looks of the fall 2009 introduced 38 footer with the same designation, the C35 Sport Coupe will also be the replacement for the C35 from the Cruiser Line, Sessa most successful model delivered in over five hundred units. Designer Christian Grande follows striking hard top looks as shown on the C38, in a one metre smaller size. The C35 will also have a modular interior allowing the owner to decide on the spot if desiring two separate cabins fore and aft, or one aft cabin. Great attention has also been given to the head, which should deliver more space similar to that of the C38 and will feature a separate cubicle shower. Sessa will also offer a designer version for the galley, with this option finished by renowned kitchen specialist Boffi. This galley will have a steel working top, and ivory lacquered cabinets. Power for this seven tons and a half hard top sport cruiser will be from twin Volvo 220hp up to 260hp engines propelled with economic stern drive propulsion, and easier to manoeuvre in harbour joystick control.

New Model: Sessa 45 Fly

Sessa finally shows the second model of its flybridge range with the much awaited 45 Fly.  The second Sessa flybridge model follows the first 54 Fly, and was launched in middle Summer with a tour taking it around the West Mediterranean and finishing in early September in Cannes for the World preview at the famous boat show.  The Sessa 45 Fly comes again from the hands of architect Christian Grande who presented very modern sports flybridge looks, or as Sessa likes to call it an open evolution.  Innovative ideas come from the forward sunbed on the flybridge which has a movable back rest which can extend its size, and from the two pillars of the aft deck which have an open tent cover privatizing the area or protect it from cold weather in seconds.  The 45 Fly is a tribute to clever design and intelligent use of space from a very spacious flybridge seating up to ten persons, to a layout design of the interior offered in a two, or three cabins plan.  In the three cabins version the galley moves up in a split level saloon, while in the two sleeping room offer this is below and is a spacious offer.  In both layouts the owners room is to fore, and features an island double with a private shower head to port side. Power from the Sessa 45 Fly is from Volvo 435hp engines with IPS pods.

LOA - 14.27 m (46.8ft)

New Model: Sessa C43

If you had to ask me the question which of the main builders have improved dramatically in recent times, my answer would surely include Sessa as on top of the list. The Italian builder has upgraded the class, standard and quality of it's boats, not only in it's recent bigger boats but also in the smaller ones of it's range. The new C43 announced as a project in Summer continues Sessa improvement in quality and style, creating an elegant design which leaves nothing to chance, with bands and stops underlining the structure contour and revealing the outer strength of the hull. Inside, each detail is finely crafted to create an atmosphere which is both modern and uncluttered but also mellow and welcoming. A successful choice of materials and colours provides a play on contrast and allows the boat’s inside to be visualised in a different manner, reinventing marine interior design, giving each view a 3D dimension. In this spirit, the lounge and galley present a play of colours and materials creating a unique, modern atmosphere: textured leathers on black lacquered wood or walnut, as well as velvet partitions enhanced by fetching steel pieces. Power is entrusted to double Volvo 370hp available in IPS pod propulsion or stern drives, with the later giving better performance and the former easy tight manoeuvring. Designed by architect Christian Grande, new Sessa C43 follows the style and philosophy of the much praised C46 introduced last year, but in a more compact thirteen meter length.

New Model: Sessa C 52

Sessa C 52, the famous Italian builder flagship, is now being presented in a new and revised version. The first notable difference is the hard top, now revised with a more aggressive profile, similar to what we have seen on the successful C 46 introduced last year and the new C 43, the 2008 novelty for Sessa Marine Yacht Line. Other important differences are the more powerful engines now offering Volvo's D12-800 series 774hp as the top option, better designed outdoor cockpit with new and sporty windows for a better clearer visibility and two new broadside colourings Copper and Turquoise, adding on the previous Navy Blue and Ruby Red. Inside Sessa also improved its option now offering two indoor versions: “Tradition” and “Innovation”, both with a strongly innovative and unique personality. New Model: Sessa 54 Sport Fly

Another exclusive preview from PowerYachtBlog, this time presenting the Sessa 54 Sport Fly just as it debuted at Cannes. This Italian builder has really upgraded itself in the last years, and when one thinks it arrived to the limits, it presents a new model pushing the borders of design and quality a step further. Christian Grande in his first flybridge Motor Yacht for Sessa takes a lot from the smaller open hardtop cruisers and yachts, giving it very sporty looks with a family feeling representing the range. Secondly Sessa also offer easy and fast handling in the marina and not, thanks to the 54 Sport Fly being equipped with the second generation of the larger Volvo IPS II drives, in this case the 900 series powered with 700hp engines. This should push the 54 Sport Fly to an estimated 37 knots max speed. Inside the 54 Sport Fly offers a three double cabin interior which is filled with natural light thanks to the huge windows and the furnishing used. Sessa also says that the 54 Sport Fly is unique for offering two real galley dining areas: being on top of the flybridge, and inside in the main deck saloon.

Project: Sessa C65

Sessa Marine announces the development of a new 65 feet boat within the open hard top segment. After the launch of C52 and C46, a new pearl will join the Sessa Marine fleet the C65, result of a team work of excellence: Christian Grande for the design, Arnaboldi Studios for the waterlines and Sessa Marine Engineering department for the manufacturing. The first big challenge is the design: the boat will represent the stylistic innovation that Sessa Marine showed during the last years, being one of the most innovative manufacturer in terms of design and style. The challenge now is to introduce a new boat with exclusive details of style with new materials that will be the trend for next years. We can say that the C65 will introduce a new concept in yachting market, transforming spaces into verandas and “look trough” rooms, taking away the sensation of closed spaces, well known limit of the medium - small yacht. The target is to translate the concepts as the high washboard, the big windows, the hangar and bow shapes of the big yachts, into a 20 meters boat that will become the point of reference for the market.

Project: Sessa C48

Sessa presents its fourth new model of the 2010 year with the C48, showing the huge effort from this Italian builder who in recent years is challenging the top crown of Med looking cruisers and yachts for its innovative and high quality products. Launching in a month time at the Genoa show the C48 is a project developed on Sessa's first IPS boat introduced in 2007 the C46. Today Sessa has a total of four IPS models. Many characteristics are the same but Sessa and Christian Grande fine tuned the lines of the hard top and super structure now looking similar to the C38 introduced last year. The C48 will also add an extended bathing platform with high and low movement which apart easy tender stowage increases length by a couple of feet, hence the designation change. Thanks to this the C48 can also handle two water toys up to 2.85 metres in the garage, and another on the bathing platform. This extension also increases space in the aft deck by 36 cm, therefore also adding more space outside. Other changes are also a bigger hard top opening section, and a redesigned helm station. Interior wise the two cabin layout with the full beam owners suite to mid ship stays, but a change in furniture woods and colors is found. This to be finished in dense walnut, and leather surfaces in brown, cream and cocoa, which will match the cream colored galley. Power for what have been very appreciated underwater lines of the C46 will be from twin Volvo IPS600 435hp units. Construction method also changes for the C48 now to be done in the cleaner and lighter infused resin.
